Alexa Rives, MA, LPCC
I was honored to accept the opportunity to serve this community as a staff therapist after completing my internship with Pennock Center for Counseling.
I earned my bachelor’s in psychology at Metropolitan State University and my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Northern Colorado. My dream is to collaborate with my clients on their journeys, and I look forward to creating a safe space for clients to do authentic work nurturing their healthiest selves.
I focused my academic training on chronic illness counseling, and I believe the principles I learned for improving client outcomes can apply to a broader context. My therapeutic approach is informed by humanistic and holistic theories of counseling, namely Gestalt and Person-Centered Therapy. In this regard, my work with clients examines both the individual and the systems in which they exist to help each client more clearly see their path to mental and emotional health.
